Objective

In the 21st century, our country faces various serious problems such as rapid decline in total population and working population due to the aging society, hollowness of domestic industries and stagnation of industrial development due to low economic growth rates, and collapse of the safety myth due to major natural disasters. Among the scientific and technological advancements our country prides itself on, particularly mechatronics technology and robotics technology are widely expected to contribute to the resolution of the above-mentioned problems, considering their roles in assisting actions, providing labor, maintaining high international competitiveness, and undertaking tasks in hazardous environments. However, as a cross-disciplinary field rooted in a wide range of engineering disciplines, development and deepening of the entire field through advanced collaboration among disciplines such as mechanical engineering and electrical engineering, in addition to the independent development of core engineering disciplines, are indispensable for technological advancement. Within our Faculty of Engineering, there are many researchers focusing on mechatronics and robotics technology, each grounded in different core engineering disciplines such as mechanical engineering and electrical engineering, already conducting research and educational activities at a high international level individually. Therefore, by establishing this research hub and further strengthening organic collaboration among researchers and industries, we aim to enhance our university's international competitiveness in this field and contribute to society through the dissemination of cutting-edge technology to the industrial sector.
